James-Katherine (She/They) is a professional fixer, handler, storyteller, percussionist, retired chef, poet, photographer, tech gremlin, un-retired stage presence, and coordinator for Father Figure Productions.
Having spent the majority of their life in the Salt Lake City area, James-Katherine has had the opportunity to work with numerous LGBTQIA+ organizations, since the age of 15. Through this, James-Katherine has worked alongside and assisted multiple individuals from the area, in the world of drag, queer outreach, and kink education to reach a bigger stage.
James-Katherine studied at the University of Utah, gaining degrees in sociology and anthropology, with special focus on Sexual and Gender Identity and Expression, and what would later be commonly known as Critical Race Theory.
Throughout the years, their poetry has been published as one-offs, on occasion, in magazines such as The New Yorker. James-Katherine has recently finished their first full collection of poems, chronicling the journey, both inward and outward, of their transition, finding parts of themselves they didn't even know to look for, dredging up past trauma, learning more about who they truly are, and is eagerly awaiting being picked up by a publishing house.
Their presence was once common in Utah, as a young, talented chef, caterer, and event organizer, featured in various news articles, and working as the Executive Catering Chef for Westminster College, as well as running numerous kitchens and restaurants, and their own catering and event planning company for a time.
Whilst on stage, James-Katherine performed at musical venues all around the Salt Lake valley (likely before many of you were old enough to spell "venues"), highlighting Jazz and Blues music. As a storyteller, they took great influence from the likes of Garrison Keillor, Oscar Wilde, and Fran Lebowitz.
Now, James-Katherine can be found prowling around the Boulder and Denver areas of beautiful Colorado, chasing Kendoll around the local venues and stages, trying to get the perfect photographs and making sure they both stay hydrated.
